I know it’s going to be a rough Saturday of grading when the first final draft paper I grade from one of my freshmen still has the same due date typed on it as the final draft.

Today I taught for almost 5 minutes with my fly down.
Things were going okay. I was reviewing the bellwork completed by the students at the beginning of class. They were listening, they were raising their hands, they were answering questions and replying. However, on the periphery, there was snickering. And it became a bit louder. And a bit louder.
Finally, a student told me. The class erupted in laughter. I told them I was impressed with their near FIVE WHOLE MINUTES of restraint.
Eternity for a 14 year old.
